Braveheart goes to france
The residency at the Château de Monthelon artist community in France is fast approaching and I am now busily working on revisiting my solo show, A Brave Sliver of Light, to hit the stage in France. Chris Harder and I worked hard on this show for a whole year before it premiered at the CoHo Theatre in July 2025, and after all that work, I needed to take a break from it for a while in order to focus on growing Braveheart and building out the programs. Now, all the seeds we’ve been planting throughout the year are starting to bloom into cool projects with interesting people, and I feel the excitement of what this amazing work will generate — both in my life and the lives of those we can reach.
I’m also working on an exploration of emotion through clown, now and while I’m at the residency, and plan to bring that back as a Braveheart workshop to take into prisons and treatment centers upon my return. We will also be starting to film a short documentary reel about my story and the birth of Braveheart to present to you, our community of friends and supporters who want to be a part of making interesting and deep programs to help people thrive through difficult situations.
I look forward to sharing the fruits of our labor with you and to continuing to walk this path with you, our people. Your generous support makes a huge difference in this world of screens and artificial intelligence. Your interest, spirit, love, and presence is changing lives, and we appreciate you. Imagine being at the lowest of low, cloistered by prison walls, the constant hum of others around you, and no quiet time to think. And imagine being seen and able to create something beautiful — to grow and heal through artistic exploration in such a murky time. It’s miraculous and valuable work in a time when so many are buried in their screens, atomized and distant. So THANK YOU for your warmth, your generosity, and for being so special that you SEE when something really beautiful is afoot.
